The Workshop on ‘Serious games and Key Trends for the Healthcare Sector’ aims to discuss the opportunities and challenges for adopting software applications / serious games and other technologies to improve healthcare provision. Current advancements in healthcare have led to an increasing interest in understanding how technology-mediated tools can be used to treat, manage and prevent illness. Case studies of the design and assessment of games for active ageing, the main considerations for using gamification in healthcare and the use of virtual agents in healthcare provision training simulations are some of the topics that will be covered.
